Code of Conduct

Our values

AMA exists to promote ethical breeding, traceable lineage, education, and respect for the original creators (作出者) of each strain. We expect members to act with integrity and to put the community first.

Where this applies

This Code applies everywhere AMA brings people together — this website and member directory, our Discord and group chats, newsletters, and any events or activities organized under the AMA name.

We expect everyone to

• Treat others with respect, courtesy, and good faith.
• Be honest about your identity, your strains, and the lineage and source of your medaka.
• Welcome and support newcomers and share knowledge generously.
• Honor our ethical sourcing standards and the original creators of each strain.
• Respect others' privacy and the boundaries of community spaces.

Unacceptable behavior

• Harassment, hate speech, threats, or discrimination of any kind.
• Misrepresenting the lineage, source, or identity of medaka strains.
• Participating in or promoting illegal egg imports or prohibited sales.
• Unsolicited commercial solicitation, spam, or using the directory to harvest contacts.
• Sharing other people's private information without consent (doxxing).
• Impersonation, deception, or other dishonest conduct.

Reporting a concern

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code, please tell us. Use our contact form or reach an administrator in our community spaces. Reports are handled discreetly.

Enforcement

Our volunteer board reviews reported violations and may respond with a warning, temporary suspension, removal from community spaces, or revocation of membership, depending on the severity. Decisions are made at the board's discretion in keeping with our mission.
